POSITION SUMMARY:

The UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) designer is responsible for creating new digital experiences to inform, educate, and inspire users viewing enterprise websites and applications. This position will design key digital content experiences for company projects and initiatives through ideation, research, content strategy, and user-centered design methodologies. A strong collaborator, the UX/UI Designer will provide and facilitate the production of seamless UX/UI solutions and support for product teams including other designers, researchers, product managers, business analysts, developers, and QA testers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Works both individually and in collaboration with cross-functional, design, and research team members to facilitate and complete UX/UI design work for BassPro.com, Cabelas.com, and other company products
  • Facilitates the creation of testable, mobile-first UX/UI components, pages, and new experiences through the production of wireframes, high-fidelity designs, or interactive prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed functions, interactions, and workflows
  • Maintains and builds shared design system library through the creation of new UI components that maintain visual consistency and scale within the library for use by other internal users
  • Develops content strategy plans, patterns, and recommendations for UX/UI designs that are in keeping with the best practices and approaches for modern digital content, coordinating with copywriters or other creative producers to facilitate the content production for designs
  • Performs individual and collaborative research and testing to identify potential design solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness, using customer feedback to improve and adjust solutions through learning
  • Supports design solutions by creating detailed design and interaction documentation, presentation decks, and demonstrations that aid in the cross-functional implementation of design initiatives
  • Provides input on user-centered design processes and implementation of processes

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Years of experience: 2-5 years as a web, product, or UX/UI designer (or similar role) on consumer-facing websites or applications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Experience with any of the following preferred: e-commerce, design systems, categorized content libraries like robust blogs or other digital publishing platforms.
  • Experience designing complex webpages and experiences for in-depth, custom websites or applications.
  • Familiarity and experience using design systems, shared libraries, and digital standards to maintain consistency and enable scalable use by fellow designers and collaborators.
  • Working knowledge of modern, responsive web and product design practices, especially mobile-first design patterns and best practices.
  • Experience producing wireframes, mockups, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes using Figma design tools.
  • Familiarity with content strategy for digital experiences, and how content patterns can be used to aid users in core user journeys, tasks, and improve usability.
  • Experience documenting and presenting work to internal stakeholders, managing feedback, and driving alignment.
  • Function effectively as an integral part of a dynamic cross-functional team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Able to manage a dynamic workload to balance priorities with deadlines to effectively meet project needs.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Travel onsite for team meetings periodically.
