Conditions permitting, teams will meet in person a few times every quarter at one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a shared workspace in Krakow.

Grammarly team members in this role are required to live within a daily commutable distance to New York City. Grammarly may provide relocation assistance.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, over 30 million people and 50,000 teams around the world rely on our AI-powered communication assistance technology. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Product Designer to join our User Intelligence organization. This role will report to the Product Design Manager of the User Intelligence pillar. The person in this role will focus on helping ship experiences that are designed and built for a specific audience, in this case, students.

Grammarly’s vision is to improve lives by improving communication, and central to this vision is meeting the communication needs of people worldwide. The Product Designer in this role will play a crucial role in turning user insights, data analytics, and business objectives into experiences that address our most important user segments and needs.

Your impact

As a Product Designer on the User Intelligence team, you will own end-to-end experiences for our Student OFEs (outcome-focused experiences). You’ll be expected to partner closely with your Product, Engineering, and UXR counterparts to deliver quality experiences that are cohesive and delightful. This will help us provide an experience to our users that’s contextualized, intent-based, and tailored to their needs. This role will directly impact strategic decisions & long-term vision for this product pillar as well as outcomes that drive business goals forward.

In this role, you will:

  • Design exceptional experiences that span the entire product development lifecycle – from discovery to implementation to validation
  • Iterate on your work based on user and market research – holding the team to a high standard when it comes to shipping experiences
  • Be an advocate for and represent design by presenting your work to design and company leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product strategy, understand our users better, and design delightful experiences for users with a wide variety of abilities and needs
  • Collaborate with the Design System team to curate and implement new interaction patterns
  • Scale features across a variety of audiences, abilities, devices, and platforms

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Can collaborate in person 3 weeks per quarter, traveling to the hub where the team is based, if necessary.
  • Has a portfolio that showcases a methodical approach to designing end-to-end experiences that serve both user needs and business goals
  • Has excellent communication skills and can effectively articulate ideas and give/receive feedback
  • Enjoys the process of coming up with solutions as much as the solutions themselves, and is able to work through user problems that move the needle on our key metrics
  • Is excited about setting a vision for what a cohesive Student OFEs experience could look like and helping execute on this vision
  • Values autonomy and is comfortable owning projects from start to finish
  • Enjoys contributing to setting high-level goals
  • Inspires and mentors colleagues, and shares processes, skills, and knowledge to level up the team
