Minimum qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience working in consumer product design.
  • Experience in shipping multiple consumer products in a lead or executive engineer role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in system integration, including electro-mechanical components (e.g., audio, display, camera, antenna), waterproofing, thermals, grounding, and/or product architecture.
  • Experience in collaborating with suppliers around the world on part manufacturing and final assembly, including onsite factory support.
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of multiple manufacturing methods used in consumer products.

As an Engineering Designer, you leverage your strong technical background and understanding of “good” design to look for ways to streamline the user experience. You work closely with the product managers and development engineers throughout the entire production cycle. You design everything from high-level product flow to detailed UI mockups and then use your expert scripting skills to make your designs a reality.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design a complex subsystem and/or multiple moderately complex individual parts from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems and/or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process.
  • Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions.
  • Travel to engineering builds to oversee mechanical validation, design, and assembly.
  • Drive and lead Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) teams supporting part design.
