We are looking for: an experienced UX Researcher to join the SimSpace UX team and lead our user research practice. You will be at the forefront of protecting digital landscapes from evolving cyber threats and work with the top security professionals, networking experts, and data scientists in the cybersecurity industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of planning and conducting impactful user research, synthesizing insights, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate findings into actionable recommendations. Your responsibilities will include inspiring change, effectively communicating with various stakeholders, and helping the organization better understand what would make a user’s experience more intuitive, accessible, and seamless.
What will you be doing as a Senior UX Researcher at SimSpace?
- Determine, scope, and plan qualitative and quantitative research, taking into account tactical and strategic contexts, goals, knowledge gaps and constraints.
- Influence design direction and product strategy through stakeholder interviews, participatory design, early concept testing, formative and summative usability testing and post-launch research.
- Collaborate with UX designers to execute mixed methods research in support of product discovery and delivery activities, partnering closely with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners.
- Develop a deep understanding of our users through various research methods, including but not limited to, user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics data analysis.
- Develop and track usability metrics, including task success rates, error rates, and task completion times.
- Communicate findings and make recommendations in a consumable and engaging way, connecting research insights to business outcomes.
- Propose new programs, processes and systems in support of continuous growth and evolution of the research function.
- Coach broader team members on research best practices and evangelize research methods and results throughout the organization.
- Stay organized, manage time effectively, and prioritize work between multiple projects and deadlines.
What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Senior UX Researcher, you need:
- Proven expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with a deep understanding of when and how to apply them effectively.
- A portfolio of work representing research that you’ve planned and conducted, influencing design direction and product strategy as a result.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with strong ability to synthesize and communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing, across different audiences at varying levels of the organization.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in research direction decisions.
- Experience with remote research and testing tools.
- Strong desire for creative problem-solving with a positive attitude.
- bility to work efficiently, demonstrating bias for action in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Nice to Have:
- Advanced degree in a human behavior-related field (or equivalent and demonstrable work experience).
- Experience establishing and scaling a successful user research practice in an enterprise software setting.
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity domain.
